Jeevana (India) Private Limited, CIN U85100MH2022PTC374573
This notice is given under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. Jeevana is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below.
We collect only what we need to look after your parents well, and this notice sets out exactly what that is.
1. Whose information this covers
Yours, as the person who books and pays.
Your parents', as the people a Care Partner visits.
Your parents are adults and their personal data belongs to them. Where they are able to, we will explain what we hold and seek their agreement directly. Where you provide information on their behalf, you confirm that you are entitled to do so and that they are aware Jeevana is involved in their care.
2. What we collect
From you: name, phone number, email address, your relationship to the person receiving care, billing details, the package you choose, and the content of your messages to us.
About your parents: name, address, age, and the practical details a Care Partner needs in order to help safely and well. This includes which doctor they see, which chemist they use, mobility, routines, preferences, and any health information you or they choose to share.
From each visit: date, time and duration, what was done, receipts for anything purchased on your behalf, and notes a Care Partner records so that the next visit goes well.
Some of the above is health data. We collect it only where you or your parents provide it, and only to deliver care safely.
3. Why we collect it
To arrange and deliver visits. To tell you how a visit went. To take payment, account for reimbursements, and keep track of the package and hours you have bought. To keep your parents and our Care Partners safe. To meet our legal and tax obligations. To improve the service.
Nothing else. We do not sell personal data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train any model.
Marketing. We will not use your name, your parents' names, your photographs or your words in any marketing without asking you separately and getting your agreement in writing. You can withdraw that agreement at any time.
4. The lawful basis
We process this data on the basis of the consent you give when you book, and, where applicable, for the legitimate uses permitted under section 7 of the DPDP Act, including compliance with law and responding to a medical emergency or a threat to life or safety.
5. Who can see it
The Jeevana team, and the Care Partner assigned to your parents, who sees only what is needed to carry out the visit.
Beyond that, only where necessary: our payment provider, our background verification provider, government or tax authorities where the law requires, and a doctor, hospital or emergency service where it is needed for your parents' immediate care.
We do not transfer personal data outside India except where a service provider we use does so, in which case it remains subject to this notice and to applicable law.
6. WhatsApp
Booking takes place through the request form on our website or over WhatsApp. Messages sent over WhatsApp pass through WhatsApp and are subject to their own terms. Please do not send documents or health information over WhatsApp that you would not want held there. If you would prefer another route for something sensitive, tell us and we will arrange it.
7. How long we keep it
Booking and visit records: for the duration of the arrangement and for 8 years afterwards, in line with the Companies Act, 2013. Payment and reimbursement records: as required by tax law. Enquiries that do not become bookings: 12 months. Care notes and observations: 3 years after the last visit.
When a retention period ends we delete the data or remove anything that identifies a person from it.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may:
Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we have processed it.
Ask us to correct anything inaccurate, or complete anything incomplete.
Ask us to erase data we are not required by law to retain.
Withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable.
Where we are legally required to retain something, we will tell you. Where withdrawing consent means we cannot continue the service, we will tell you before anything changes.
To make a request, message us on WhatsApp or write to care@jeevana.com.
9. Raising a concern
If you are unhappy with how we have handled personal data, contact our Grievance Officer:
Athira Murali, Co-founder care@jeevana.com · +91 77770 40960
We aim to respond within 7 working days, and will resolve the matter within 90 days at the outside, as the DPDP Rules require. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
10. If there is a data breach
If personal data we hold is breached, we will inform the people affected without delay, describing what happened, what it may mean for them, and what we are doing about it. We will also report the breach to the Data Protection Board of India within 72 hours, as required.
11. Keeping it safe
Personal data is held in Jeevana-approved systems, access is limited to those who need it, and every Care Partner signs a confidentiality obligation that continues after they leave Jeevana.
Photographs or updates about your parents are shared with you only through Jeevana's own channels, and only with consent. Care Partners may not photograph your parents, their home or their documents on a personal device, and may not post anything about them anywhere.
12. Children
Jeevana's service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data about anyone under 18, and our booking process is not directed at children.
13. Changes
We may update this notice. The version published here is the current one, and we will notify families with an active arrangement of any material change.
